I've had a fun two days, even though a week apart, this most recent workshop was a lot of fun and different than what I have normally done. It's always a pleasure to paint on location as the painting above was done as a demo on the last day of the workshop. The weather was perfect even though the heat was climbing as you can tell above we were all in a nice shade and had a wonderful breeze flowing through. This was painted around 10am and if your on the Island around that time and would like to find my view point it's at Kempner Street at Post Office street and look toward the beach. Wish I had photo's of the group but always busy during these workshops that time flies when you have fun.
A little bit of low tide makes the rocks or what's not usually seen poke up. On a very cold November day quite a few years back, oh lets say ten years or so I went on a family trip to the Beach. What else to do on a cold day but very sunshiny day but to visit the Galveston Island. We checked out the bay and to our surprise the wind how blown out a lot of the water and we could actually walk to a smaller island where usually we were up to our waists in water.
This one is a foggy day on the coast of Dublin, Ireland. I'm offering some paintings that exhibit that old world feel to them and hope to have a lot of fun with these with more to come. The frames I will be using in this series are from the ever so popular Randy Higbee Frames made professionally and really look great. The above frame is called the La Paz frame, an 8 x 8 floater frame which reveals all of the painting instead of covering part of it like a traditional frame.
Had a fun time painting this Sunrise at Galveston Island during the Galveston Art Walk glad to see a bunch of friends show up. Had a live guitar player playing also which was a treat, some great tunes. The sunrise is a 24 x 24. The barn to the right is one I did from a trip to Matagorda Beach. I have a wide variety of other paintings here in there showroom ranging from 6x6 to 24x24 come by and check them out.
